When did you join the Height of Health Team?
I started the business in May of 2014 with the idea of offering affordable massage therapy while paying and treating therapists well.
What inspired you to become a massage therapist?
I received my first massage when I was 14 and loved it! Years later, I sort of fell into the idea of massage therapy. I thought it might be a stepping stone into another medical focused career. However, I found that I loved massage therapy and stayed with it!
What is your education background and where did you attend massage school?
I attended The Academy of Natural Therapy in Greeley in 2010 which offered 1000 hour program in massage therapy. In 2012, I completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado.
Was there an event or situation that you find has made you a better massage therapist?
I find that experience and seeing a diversity of different populations has helped me to become a better massage therapist and better listener. I have worked at many different locations from spas to physical therapy offices. I have seen clients who want to simply sleep and relax, to clients dealing with chronic issues like MS, to clients who have had strokes or hindering accidents. I find that listening and seeing each person as an individual is a learning opportunity for growth.
What did you think you’d be when you grew up when you were 8?
I wanted to be a musician! As a kid, I loved playing piano and singing in choir. I first began as a music major in college when I attended UNC, and I even dabbled in opera.
